Return to college today after Christmas and this week is fully focused around charlie work making sure we have everything planned out that is needed and practice whatever is needed to be practiced. Due to the guide lines changing through covid when we first arrived we didn't know what would be happening as we weren't sure if the show would still be going ahead. We focused on our folder work to see where we where at with all our families and face charts then later that morning the director came in to us and said they where needing to have a meeting as they where in the same boat as us and didn't fully know what was happening yet, plus a lot of the actors where having to isolate due to them testing positive for covid including some of the main characters which would mean that their was no chance the show could go on next week as planned. We carried on with out side of the work as even if it got delayed the show would be happening at some point so if we where all sorted would mean we could just pick up when needed. When it came to out Oompa-Loompas as a class we where undecided on what design to go with so on the afternoon we decided to do some practical work and try creating the new look for the Oompa-Loompas so we could see what they would look like in person, then went through to the theatre to see what the looks would  look like from the stage, if the illusion on the bigger doll like eye worked from a distance. The director decided she liked both the looks but when asked what she would change she would make them in between each other, one eye was dropped a little to much while the other was still a little to high. When we went back into out room, we told out other class mates what had been discussed then we also discussed that we thought something else was missing from the faces. My tutor suggested freckles but also didn't want it to be like the elves we had just done so i had the idea of maybe adding sequin stars to the cheeks to add a little sparkle to the characters as well. I then tried to make the changes on my eye look that had been spoken about so that we could see the difference between them. I also tired using different products to see which would be better to use. I still think I would need another practice at the Oompa-Loompas before the show starts just to make sure ive got the look how I want it to be.
