Today they where filming the elevator scene for charlie as this is going to be projected on the night to make it look like they are in an elevator. So for this the characters in the scene need their makeup doing so that it will all match in on the night. I started by getting the crepe wool prepped and ready for my actors coming in. Since their are two casts the scene will be filmed twice, once with each cast so that meant I had to do both Grandpa Joes beards and ageing makeup. The grandpa Joe for cast one hadn't arrived yet so I got started on the one for cast two so that timing wouldn't run over to much. I really enjoy creating a beard this way as it gives such a realistic look to the character. I also enjoy doing the theatre ageing makeup since Grandpa Joe is meant to be 96 I could really go for it with the ageing and make him look as old as I could. I love when you can see a character appear right in front of you.Once I finished the makeup we went through to the theatre to see if the look was strong enough under the stage lights as I through i may have blended it a bit to much for stage. I was right in my through so I needed to remember not to over blend the lines. We went back through to the makeup room and i took all my continuity photos so that on the night I can make sure I get the look the same so that you wont be able to tell the difference on the filmed parts. By the time I'd finished my actor, my second actor was ready and waiting, I found it went a lot quicker this time around as I knew exactly how I wanted it the only difference this time was that my actors eyes kept watering whenever I got to close to them so I decided not to use the makeup to his eyelids and didn't take the colour out of his eyelashes when I did go close to his eyes I tired to be as quickly as I could and still get the best results. I remembered not to blend to much on my line work which give me a stronger finish this time. I finished by taking my continuity photographs, these also come in handy if for some reason I am unable to do the makeup for the show the other MUA's have photos to go by.

The look was still missing something and seemed a little flat so I added a shimmer shade of eyeshadow (still a green shade to match the chosen colour) over the lip, brow and around the inner corner of the eye to make it pop, then the glitter idea was to blow glitter over the face and wig. We went through to the theatre to see if this worked from the stage and show the director and other actors. One of the other actors shouted that it reminded them of a Bratz doll which was one of the ideas the director had giving us to work with so I was happy about that. The glitter really worked well under the lights too as it just sparkled all over. We ended up going back to the room and finishing the look on the other face of the face at the request of the actor. I took reference photo's to show everyone else as we will all have to do the Oompa-Loompa makeup on the nights as there are a lot of them!
