Into The Woods

Week commencing 07.03.22

This week is the start of our final major project 'Into The Woods' which is a collaborative piece working with the HE Musical Theatre students. 

We received our project booklet explaining what we will need to cover in order to pass this unit.

We also got our first look at a couple of moodboards the director had put together, one of the 'scene' one for the 'costumes' and one for 'makeup' just to give us a little insight into how he is imagining the production to be. 

The 'Scene' is an easier one to imagine, he is setting the show on a council estate and is only going to be using things you would find on a council estate also. 

The 'Costumes' are based around the typical 2000's Chav style, other words he mentioned for style was to think of Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, 2000's Paris Hilton, Britney that sort of look.

The 'Makeup' moodboard was something completely different to the other two we had looked at his vision for this is dystopian, graphic, dark, fantasy! 

I'm so intrigued into how the show is going to turn out just off these initial ideas! 

We also received a cast list of the actors informing us of which roles they are playing, which left us with a few questions we would need answers for as some of the cast had multiply roles to play, which we would need to take into consideration when designing their characters makeup.

As a group we discussed and made notes on these issues ready for our next week.

We also discussed and decided the best way to show our work and agreed that we would do both a production folder and a production sketch book1
