Into The Woods week 4

 Into The Woods

Week commencing 28.03.22

budget!!

This week we needed to get this budget finished off in order for all the items to be ordered over Easter break, when I first thought of volunteering to do the budget I didn't think this would have taken as long as it had to complete, yes we have been doing other work for the folder and sketch book but I thought I would have had this done a lot quicker than it has been.

I'm so glad I asked Libby to help with the budget so we could split the load otherwise this would have taken me even longer 🙈🙈

At first we had to do all our product research and this seem to take the longest time, we looked at a lot of products, while remembering it is important that we chose not only good quality products but that they are also cost effective, meaning we wouldn't buy every shade of foundation for each individual actor we would by just enough so that we could decant the foundations out into a makeup palette so that we all had just enough of each shade needed to see up through the show., also checking what our actors skin tones are first was a great help as then we can narrow down the shades we need even more so. We managed to do this for a few different products such as translucent powder, I choose a bigger sized product rather than multiple smaller ones, trying to save as much money as we could wear we could which is always a good thing.

This is good practice/habits for us to get into as if we were needed to create a budget for a director and managed to bring in a cheaper budget than what they were expecting you improve your chances of being remembered and hired again.

We then chose a couple of each product incase when the order went in that one was no longer available.

product research

I included links on each of these to take you straight to the websites. Then I chose my preferred products and made a excel spreadsheet and added all the products into this.

excel spreadsheet

Once we tried to print these out we realised that you now wouldnt be able to click on the links and also the excel spreadsheet didn't print out as we expected and ended up looking more confusing then it was.
After speaking with our tutor about this she was happen with the research but noted that the budget should be in an order form format and that normally you would have a order form for each place you needed to order from. Myself and Libby went back into the library to amend this. The good thing was we already had done all the work just needed writing out in a more simpler way so we knew this wouldn't take nowhere near as long to do,.
I looked back through my products and was able to narrow suppliers down to just two, which meant I now only needed two order forms.

After correcting the budgets I do see the difference between then and how much more simpler it is to create them this way. At least next time I now know how to make this as this was the first time I've had to make one like this.

Order forms now handed 🙌 fingers crossed everything now turns up in time for the shows!
