Fashion shoot

 Fashion Shoot

I had an amazing opportunity working on a fashion shoot at Teesside University for the fashion degree students. We had about 6/7 MUA's due to turn up to work on the models with about 15/16 make up looks needed. I was the first to arrive as I'm always early I hate being late for thing! I waited outside the building as we didn't have access until the university staff arrived. By the time they turned up my tutor and one other MUA (Faye) who was down from Leeds City Centre College on work experience had also turned up.

Once inside we where shown around the room and were they would be shooting the makeup looks, we met with the designers to discuss the makeup ideas they had, and this is were we realised that we only had two models and all the looks were to be done on just these two models though out the day. Nina (our tutor) had to quickly phone all the other MUA's and tell them it was pointless them coming as they wouldn't have had any work to do. Two of the MUA's had just arrived as she had phoned them so they decided to stay for a while to see if we needed a hand with anything and we were doing both hair and makeup today.

This is a perfect example of why it pays to be early, as now I was getting the opportunity to work on this shoot with a professional photographer  and professional model creating multiple makeup looks and by the end I would have amazing images of my makeup to use in my own portfolio!

Once Faye & I had gotten set up we spoke with the designers and organisers about the schedule they had for makeup as now with these two models having to have multiple looks and everyone only booked between 9am & 1pm I thought it would be good to group the simpler makeups together, ones that didn't need much of a change over and were similar in styles would be best getting shoot next to each other even more so to save everyone time.

This meant some changes to the shooting schedule and designers having to move about but if we had of seen the mood-boards previously we could have spotted this problem sooner and giving them a heads up.

Today was going to be a challenge for me, this was my first ever photo shoot and also the first time I would ever have to change one persons makeup so many times in a short period of time.

I loved every minute of this day! everyone was happy with the outcome of the photos and I cant wait for the next opportunity to work in this type of environment again!

B1elow are just some of the images that were taken this day.
